Explorer Safari Team Leader and Travel Planner Shanaaz recently visited the beautiful 5* Majeka House in Stellenbosch, a stylish boutique hotel, offering an intimate and peaceful experience of the Cape Winelands.

Welcome to the Winelands
Majeka House offers the perfect balance between service and facilities, and with just 22 rooms, the hotel is private and ideal for a breakaway. After arriving in the afternoon, I checked-in and decided to go and relax in the striking book-lined lounge which caught my attention upon my arrival.
I could not resist; I selected a novel and sat there for some time to just take in the surroundings. The lounge is filled with French-inspired armchairs, and wallpapers by Halogen House that blend both modernity and comfort. Snacks and drinks are on offer throughout the day and evening – a wonderful treat!
Fine Dining at Makaron
Further on down the hallway is the Makaron Restaurant which is an open venue incorporating light wood and pastel colours. This spectacular space certainly enhances the sense of occasion whether it is breakfast, lunch or dinner.
Our room was so comfortable, with quality linen, Lavazza coffee machine, and soft fluffy gowns. I could not tear myself away from the room, and turned my bath into a mini spa! Each room is flawlessly designed and has its own distinct charms.
An Oasis & Retreat
Majeka House is surrounded by lush gardens and amazing pools. This is truly a place to come when you want to unwind and forget about the hustle of city life. You don’t want to pass by the Spa, and make use of the Jacuzzi, steam room or sauna.
This inviting boutique hotel is only a ten-minute drive from downtown Stellenbosch, and there are lots of activities to do close by, including visits to award-winning wine farms and restaurants. Stellenbosch is a lively university town, and supportive community for local shops, cafes and galleries.
Rejuvenation & Rest
The promise of a change of scenery and routine, even for a short while, can do wonders to restore and rejuvenate one’s body, mind, and soul. It is human nature to want to have something exciting to look forward to, and a sojourn in the city was just what we needed.
