Your Itinerary
4 nights in Cape Town
Welcome to Africa! Your journey begins today as you arrive and are met at Cape Town International Airport, where you are transferred to the Belmond Mount Nelson, situated in the scenic Gardens area of the Cape Town CBD. The Mount Nelson is considered the ‘Grande Dame’ of Cape Town, and her iconic pink buildings are set to welcome you.
Spend the next few days exploring South Africa’s Mother City. Cape Town has been on many world travel lists, and there’s plenty of reasons why! Enjoy a Cape Peninsula tour and visit Cape Point, Boulder’s Beach and the quaint village of Simons Town; head to the V&A Waterfront for fine dining, shopping and entertainment; discover the Constantia Winelands, or head out to Stellenbosch or Franschhoek for a day’s wine tasting.
There’s also plenty to do for the adventurous. Paragliding, hiking Table Mountain, abseiling, surfing, guided walks around Kirstenbosch Gardens and even sandboarding are all on offer.
In the evenings you can choose to enjoy superb fine dining at the Mount Nelson, or head out to one of the top restaurants in Cape Town.
DINING SUGGESTIONS
Head to the Planet Bar for fantastic cocktails, or enjoy the famous Mount Nelson High Tea for treats and delights.
WHERE YOU'LL STAY
Belmond Mount Nelson
Set at the foot of Table Mountain, Belmond Mount Nelson Hotel has long been regarded as one of Cape Town’s top hotels, offering the perfect combination of leafy tranquility and contemporary buzz.
2 nights in Chobe, Botswana
Today you’ll bid Cape Town behind and after a private transfer to Cape Town International Airport, you’ll make your way to Maun, which is considered the gateway to Botswana’s most prolific safari destinations. From Maun, you’ll enjoy a light aircraft flight to Belmond Savute Elephant Lodge which is situated in Chobe’s famed Savute Channel.
This area is well known for its excellent big game sightings, including large lion prides, leopard and big elephant herds. You’ll enjoy the next two nights at Savute Elephant Lodge, which has a wonderful sense of history and discovering, evoking the explorers of yesteryear.
Head out on dawn and dusk game drives, enjoy guided walks through the wilderness and keep and eye out for hyena, cheetah, buffalo and lion. Return to camp and indulge with a treatment at the Savute Spa, which uses South African organic brand, TheraNaka.
Take time out in the viewing hide down at the waterhole – make sure to bring your binoculars! Or relax on the main deck with a bird book, G&T or freshly brewed coffee in hand. There’s plenty of space to enjoy and take in the wild beauty of your surroundings.

Dine in the open-air boma in the evenings, and enjoy African delicacies and soulful African music.
WHERE YOU'LL STAY
Belmond Savute Elephant Lodge
Savute Elephant Lodge is inspired by history’s greatest explorers, and all the lodge areas plus the luxury, eco-friendly suites, evoke a true sense of adventure. From guided 4×4 game drives to guided walks, you can also enjoy time in the luxury spa, at the viewing hide overlooking the waterhole, or simply on your private deck taking in the landscape.
2 nights in Moremi Game Reserve, Botswana
Today you’ll leave the Savute behind, and enjoy a short light aircraft flight into Moremi Game Reserve, the pearl of the Okavango Delta. From the airstrip, you’ll be met and transferred to Belmond Khwai River Lodge, an inviting camp that has panoramic views of the Moremi flood plains, and which promises incredible big game sightings.
Khwai River Lodge has a special history in the greater Botswana safari history. The lodge was opened in 1971 and was one of the first lodges in the area to promote safaris with a conservation ethos, moving away from hunting which characterised the Botswana wilderness at that time. This emphasis on wildlife conservation continues today; when you stay at Khwai River Lodge, you get the sense of being in the animals’ space – they are not in yours.
Enjoy a full day’s safari out on the reserve, or head out on morning and evening game drives. Relax with a spa treatment or massage on your private suite deck – there’s nothing quite like the indulgent Africa potato manicure at Khwai!
In the evenings simply relax around the fire and share stories about your day in the reserve.

2 nights in the Okavango Delta, Botswana
Today you’ll bid farewell to Moremi and head off into the vast Okavango Delta of Botswana, via another short light aircraft flight. Arrive at Belmond Eagle Island Lodge, an exceptional eco-friendly camp situated on a private island in the heart of the Delta.
The camp was established in the 1900s when explorers and hunters flocked the area; since then the art of safari has been refined to what you can expect today. Enjoy a truly environmentally friendly style of living, with all the luxury you have come to expect on your journey to far.
