Begin your East African safari in Arusha, the gateway to the Serengeti. Spend a night on the edge of vast Lake Manyara, known for its proliferous birdlife; flamingos, pelicans and other water birds and joined by hordes of plains game that make their way to the lake’s edge. From there, you’ll enjoy two nights on the edge of the Ngorongoro Crater, the world’s largest natural caldera.
Game viewing in Ngorongoro is exceptional: it has one of the highest densities of game in Africa. You’ll then head into the vast Serengeti National Park. During migration season, 100s of 1000s of wildebeest and zebra make their way in a circular route from the Serengeti into the Masai Mara in search of new grazing. Finally, you’ll enjoy two nights in the Masai Mara, where your lodge has expansive and elevated views over the African plains.

1 night in Arusha
From the airport, you’ll be transferred to Arusha Serena Lodge for your first night in Tanzania. The hotel is situated among the woodland slopes of Mount Meru and has a wonderful ambiance that evokes a colonial-era coffee farm. Relax and unwind as you prepare to depart for your safari the following day.
