3 nights in Cape Town
Arrive in spectacular Cape Town, South Africa’s most popular city and the perfect base from which to start your luxury self-drive holiday. You’ll enjoy a private road transfer from the airport through to Camissa House, the perfect base for your stay in The Mother City. After a hearty breakfast, you can set out to explore! Your car rental will be delivered to your hotel, so you can choose your route.
Head up Table Mountain via the cable car and descend via one of the top mountain trails, or embark on a trip to Robben Island. A scenic drive around the Cape Peninsula has its delights: see the penguins at Boulders Beach, stop for coffee in Simon’s Town and marvel at the views from Chapmans Peak.
Time in Cape Town should not be without a visit to either the Constantia or Cape Winelands; with so many award-winning estates and wineries, you’ll be hard-pressed to choose! The city is also filled with a variety of fine dining restaurants, relaxed eateries and streetfood options, while local markets are also highly popular.

3 nights in Plettenberg Bay
Leave Cape Town behind and enjoy a scenic drive up the famed Garden Route to Plettenberg Bay, where you’ll enjoy 3 sumptuous nights at Tsala Treetops, a luxurious boutique hotel tucked into the heart of an indigenous forest.
On your way, you’ll meander along the Cape Whale Coast, then along the N2 towards Mossel Bay, Wilderness and Knysna. This part of the country is well known for its incredible sea views, eateries, and beautiful natural scenery of forests, fields, mountains and beaches.
Spend your time in and around Plett – as it’s commonly called here – with visits to local animal sanctuaries, walking the beautiful beaches and going fishing or kayaking in one of the lagoons or rivers. From zip-lining through the forest, to delectable seafood dinners there’s plenty to do, see and experience.

Meals at Tsala are presented in the glass-walled dining room, or out on the spectacular dining deck, suspended above the forest floor. A variety of top restaurants in the area can also be enjoyed; ask the Tsala staff for their best recommendation.

Set amidst the treetops of an indigenous forest, Tsala Treetops is a luxurious boutique hotel that captures the spirit of Africa. Both intimate and expansive, you’ll truly feel like you’re floating above a canopy. Each luxury suite is constructed out of natural materials, with beautiful forest views.
4 nights at Kwande Private Game Reserve, Eastern Cape
From the Garden Route, you’ll drive towards Port Elizabeth and then head into the interior to Kwandwe Private Game Reserve, a scenic Big 5 game reserve in the heart of the Eastern Cape Province. You’ll spend the next few days at Kwandwe Great Fish River Lodge, a luxurious safari escape with beautiful river and landscape views.
Enjoy daily dawn and dusk game-drives in custom 4×4 safari vehicles, with your own experienced ranger and tracker. The reserve is home to the Big 5 (elephant, buffalo, lion, leopard and rhino), but there are also cheetah, giraffe, wildebeest and a variety of antelope, as well as some elusive nocturnal animals to be spotted.
You can also try your hand at fishing (large mouth bass in the dam or river), or head out on either a Big Game Safari Walk or Interpretive Bush Walk. Relax with a spa treatment or simply take time out with a pair of binoculars on the main deck.
On your final day, you’ll drive to Port Elizabeth Airport to return your rental car and catch your outgoing flight (either via Cape Town or Johannesburg).
